Switch Aglaya Interview: At Both Ends of the Bullwhip

Aglaya is a switch with many fascinating sides. She is exploring the new, unknown territory of SM and cannot be easily put into a single category. For example, she feels at home at both ends of the bullwhip: as an active lady who swings the whip, and as a passive lady who enjoys erotic pain. Lady Sas: Dear Aglaya, how would you describe your BDSM orientation?
Aglaya: That is actually not so easy to answer. On the one hand, I love actively using the bullwhip and living out my undeniable sadistic streak in those moments. On the other hand, I love letting go and enjoying the “tenderness” that marks me, makes me bleed, makes me fly, and drives me into ecstasy. Now I will gladly leave the classification to you, Lady Sas.

Lady Sas: That sounds to me like a switch. Please tell us how you became aware of the BDSM world and how you developed.
Aglaya: I do not feel that I belong to the “bizarre” world. For me, BDSM and everything that belongs to it is not “bizarre” at all, but very normal and therefore part of my life.
Unfortunately, my development was not very straightforward or purposeful. For far too long, I searched without really knowing what I was actually trying to find.

That only changed when I finally found the person who was able to show me what I had missed for so long and so painfully without being able to name it. Since then, I have been exploring the still-unreached expanses of this unknown land called “SM” with great curiosity and an insatiable thirst for knowledge about what else there is to discover there.

Lady Sas: Your motto “Ama et fac quod vis” means “Love, and do what you will.” What does this sentence by Augustine of Hippo mean to you?
Aglaya: It expresses my refusal to be put into boxes or submit to conventions. I am deviant in my entire nature, and I do everything I enjoy doing with love and enthusiasm.

Lady Sas: Is BDSM something where you always have to keep developing so it does not become boring? What do you think?
Aglaya: Some time ago, I was allowed to attend a session. After a while, the passive lady unexpectedly started to cry in anticipation of what she knew would happen next. I realized with horror that she actually had the entire sequence of the session in her head. For me, that is an unbearable idea. Is that sufficient as an answer?

On the bright and dark sides of BDSM

Lady Sas: What are the beautiful sides of BDSM, and what are the darker sides?
Aglaya: BDSM is sexuality. As long as sexuality is fulfilling and makes you happy, it is something very beautiful. When it becomes unsatisfying, when the other person has no idea what they are doing or should be doing, or when they act selfishly and without attentiveness or empathy, then you have arrived on the darker side.

Lady Sas: What advice can you give male BDSM practitioners who are looking for contact online? What kind of messages annoy you?
Aglaya: I prefer the term BDSMer. In German, the additional “l” in “BDSMler” sounds devaluing to my ears, similar to certain clumsy occupational terms. In general, people who write to me should have read my profile. They should not ask questions whose answers are simply none of their business. They should avoid one-line messages. They should actually be BDSMers if they refer to themselves that way. They should not define themselves by their genitals. And most importantly, they should never get the idea that they can “dominate” me in an opening message. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Lady Sas: You are a member of the Joyclub group “Breath Control.” What attracts you to this topic?
Aglaya: What am I supposed to answer to that? *laughs*
I simply find the practice, when performed by the right person, incredibly hot.

Switch Aglaya on whip sport in Germany.

Lady Sas: You told me that you are active in whip sport. In the United States, sports whipcracking is quite widespread. What is the situation like in Germany?
Aglaya: In addition to many regional whip sport groups, there has also been an association since 2020, First Whipcrackers Germany e.V., which tries to bring different interests together and offer a shared platform. Within this framework, it is possible, for example, to attend regular guided practice meetings and learn the sporting use of the bullwhip. The members of the association and the active athletes in the groups are not necessarily BDSMers.

Lady Sas: What BDSM toy or device does not exist yet, but should finally be invented?
Aglaya: I really cannot think of anything. Maybe I lack imagination, maybe I lack experience. But I do know what has no place in my BDSM: canes.

Lady Sas: What are your plans for the future?
Aglaya: I will continue, with great joy, to explore this vast new land called BDSM.
