There are women so fascinating that one interview just isn’t enough. Life keeps moving, new impressions appear, and there’s always more to talk about. Lady Mephista is definitely one of those women. By now, the striking Mistress can not only be found in Berlin — she also has fans in London and Zurich (not to mention the Other World Kingdom, OWK). So here it is: Interview number two. Below you’ll find the first interview.
Interview with Dominatrix Lady Mephista
Lady Sas: Dear Mephista, what’s new with you?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: I think the main change is that I’m now much more international. My travels have taken me to Zurich, London, and the Other World Kingdom in the Czech Republic. Getting to know new places — but also outstanding FemDom personalities — is an enormous enrichment.
Lady Sas: In which areas were you able to develop yourself the most?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: I originally entered the scene with a very technical mindset, but over the years I’ve gone deeper and deeper into the psychological aspects of BDSM. In my first years I felt most at home in sessions when they were technically complex in their setup. By now I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet tones of a “simpler,” but psychologically much deeper kind of play.
Time plays a very important role in that. Every instrument needs a certain amount of space to fully unfold its effect. That doesn’t mean my sessions have now become slow and solemn only — quite the opposite. When I feel that the person in front of me is really with me, I increase the pace until we lock into a fast rhythm together – so that, once I’ve reached my goal, the only thing that exists is the moment.

Dominatrix Lady Mephista: Berlin, Zurich, London
Lady Sas: You also appear in London and Zurich, but Berlin is actually your home base. From a Femdom point of view, what are the differences between these three cities when it comes to subs and sessions?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: Apart from different conventions in how sessions are arranged (London subs usually write much shorter emails than people from Germany or Switzerland), it’s hard to point out general differences without slipping into clichés. The ability to submit is universal. In well-executed sessions — when the person in front of me completely enters subspace — there are no cultural differences anymore.
Lady Sas: You’ve also filmed at the OWK now.
I actually thought the OWK was closed. Or is it not?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: The OWK has been open again since last year. Right now it’s mostly used for video shoots, but the first events are coming back as well. This October I’ll be at Spanking Day, where I’ll be in charge of punishing a number of slaves. I’m really looking forward to it.
Lady Sas: How do you remember the shoots at the OWK?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: Filming at the OWK was a great pleasure for me. The whole film crew was very considerate, and the male performers were wonderfully submissive and masochistic. I had complete creative freedom in designing the clips and could decide which scenes we shot in which rooms. Having that kind of freedom gives me enormous energy. I think you can feel that in the clips.

Dominatrix Lady Mephista’s long-standing dream
Lady Sas: What are your plans for the future?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: I want to keep going down the path I’ve chosen and get to know more places and personalities. One long-standing wish of mine is to go to Japan for a longer period and attend Kinbaku classes with Japanese masters. In a way, that would take me back to my beginnings in BDSM. As I mentioned in our first interview, Japanese rope bondage — and my first experiences as a rigger (that’s what you call the bondage top) — was my kind of initiation.
Lady Sas: Thank you for these insights.
The first interview with Lady Mephista
She is young, beautiful and slender as a whip. Dominatrix Lady Mephista from Berlin doesn’t just force you to your knees with her looks, but also with her mind. It’s not exactly common that I get confronted with thoughts on Goethe’s “Faust” in an interview. The bondage expert (Shibari) is a captivating personality who also feels at home in classic discipline, medical scenes, and latex/rubber.
Lady Sas: As tradition demands, let me begin by asking about your background. How did you come to work as a Dominatrix?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: I discovered my interest in BDSM through the photography of Nobuyoshi Araki. Back in school I used to go to a magazine shop on my way to class. One day I found a photo book by Araki in the display — it was a revelation. Just looking at the images of bound bodies was arousing, but how must it feel to do it myself, to tie someone up and make them helpless?
When I moved to Berlin a few years ago, I looked for places to learn Shibari — and luckily I found them. The exchange with other riggers was very inspiring, but unlike most of them, for me bondage was never just an end in itself. I wanted to use the helplessness of the bound body to try other things. It started with simple means: hands, clamps, impact toys. When I began thinking about further forms of restriction and electrical play, that was the moment I knew I had to go into a studio.
Lady Sas: When I hear “Mephista,” I think of Mephisto from Goethe’s Faust. Is that association intentional? What’s behind the name?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: You’re right, the association is intentional. But it’s not so much about Goethe himself — it’s more about the libertine spirit Mephistopheles represents in Faust. To preserve the order of the world, Goethe casts the free spirit who moves outside society’s norms into the shadows, turns him into the “other,” into something bad. Everyone remembers innocent Gretchen and her famous question.
When I first read “Justine, or The Misfortunes of Virtue” by Marquis de Sade, I immediately thought of Gretchen. Unlike Goethe, de Sade doesn’t reward virtue — instead he contrasts her with her sister Juliette, who lives without moral restraint and is happy. Of course not every moral convention in society is wrong, but when it comes to sexuality we’re still astonishingly prudish. Glossy, watered-down mainstream “SM romance” doesn’t change that.

Lady Mephista on the appeal of training a slave
Lady Sas: What is it that excites you about training a slave?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: I love shaping and creating things myself — and my slaves are no exception. The appeal grows when the sub is truly willing to allow this shaping, to gradually submit to my rules. Everyone is different, and so in slave training I discover different facets in each person that I find exciting.
Lady Sas: Have you ever recognized a studio guest in everyday life? How do you react in that situation?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: That hasn’t happened to me yet. But if it ever does one day, I’ll absolutely maintain discretion. I wouldn’t want to put anyone in an uncomfortable situation.
Lady Sas: I often see my sub wanting constant escalation. It always has to become more extreme. Each kick has to outdo the last. Do you see that too? And if yes — how do you handle it?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: In my experience, the desire for escalation develops the more familiar you become with each other. So escalation isn’t necessarily a bad sign at first. And to be honest, I’m often pleased when someone is ready to go further; intense play matters to me, too. Witnessing ecstasy when pain turns into trance is like watching a spectacle for which I’m directing the scene. That act satisfies both my urge to shape and my voyeurism.
Crossing those edges can open locked doors and feels freeing for both sides. It’s different, though, when I notice that a sub’s needs are clearly destructive. Body and mind can be pushed — but if I sense that someone only wants to act out self-destructive urges and doesn’t value their own physical and mental health, that’s where I draw a hard line.

Restraint is often essential to the session
Lady Sas: Every visitor is different. But are there wishes that guests ask for particularly often?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: For most of my guests, restriction is absolutely essential. That’s partly because of my own background — I came to BDSM through bondage, so all forms of limitation are central to my play: predicament, immobilizing specific parts of the body, or full restraint and total loss of movement.
Lady Sas: Have you ever felt you had to protect a slave from himself? Like: Slow down, you can’t seriously want that.
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: When you have to protect someone from himself, there are two categories. First: the ones who simply don’t know what they’re doing. For example, they’ve seen a super extreme clip and now “want that,” but they have no idea what that would actually mean for them. A lot of people in this category claim they’re “very experienced.” Luckily, you can unmask them in a few questions. They’re harmless — after a bit of explanation they usually move toward something realistic.
The second category I already mentioned: the self-destructive ones. They want to play in ways that basically ignore their own physical and mental health, that are almost purely destructive. I absolutely refuse that kind of session.
Lady Mephista: “Witnessing ecstasy when pain turns into trance is like watching a spectacle I’m directing.”
Lady Sas: Nudity isn’t special anymore. You see it everywhere — magazines, the internet. Is BDSM the desire to bring “forbidden” energy back into eroticism?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: Even BDSM imagery is becoming more and more mainstream. But many people who crave it still struggle to find partners who share that interest. Talking openly about sexual fantasies is still taboo. So yes, maybe it really is about the pull of the forbidden. But there’s also another aspect for those who visit a classic Dominatrix. They have the choice — they could go to a woman who offers her naked body. But the clothes I wear as a Dominatrix are not about hiding. They’re not defensive. They turn the body into a shrine. Clothing is an instrument just like a whip or a pillory. It highlights the body by enclosing it and making it inaccessible. The hierarchy between slave and Mistress becomes instantly visible, because the clothing — which is also ornament — serves representation.

A particularly striking session
Lady Sas: Is there a session that really stayed with you?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: It’s actually hard to single out just one session because I mostly remember specific moments from many different plays. But one of the most striking experiences was with a guest who had absolutely no prior experience. Usually it takes time before a sub really finds himself — which means sessions only become truly interesting later. In this case, though, I met a young man who clearly carried something inside him he’d never known was there. He was impressively resilient, and we immediately found a level where no words were needed anymore. Sessions like that are incredibly valuable to me.
Lady Sas: If you could wish for an SM device that doesn’t exist yet — what would it be?
Dominatrix Lady Mephista: Oh, there’s so much! I have a weakness for human–machine interfaces. I think we’ll see a lot in that area over the next few years. A remotely controlled exoskeleton for my slaves would be a great start. That goes way beyond controlling a remote electro device — because with an exoskeleton, a slave can only perform the movements I allow. He’d literally become remote-controlled. You could even force him to whip himself. Delicious!
Lady Sas: Now that would be something. Thank you for the interview.
