Lady Sas: Dear Paulina, please tell us about your path into BDSM.

Dominatrix Paulina: I have always been open-minded, curious, and tolerant. A man in my social circle confided in me about his submissive tendencies and interest in SM. I gave it a try and quickly discovered how fascinating and inspiring this new world was for me.

The relationship ended soon after because he became possessive and overly demanding. But by then my passion for SM had been ignited and kept growing. In the end, it was only natural for me to pursue the path of professional dominance. Through various literature — including the Femdom Academy – SM Course for Mistresses & Subs, Beginners & Advanced — and by completing a kind of “training program” to become a dominatrix, I found the opportunity to turn this passion into my profession.

Lady Sas: What fascinates you about dominating submissive men?

Dominatrix Paulina: It’s simply who I am. I have a strong personality and I am well aware of the effect I have on men. Just being myself — and making both myself and my counterpart happy with that — is what it’s all about.

Lady Sas: On a scale from 0 (barely) to 10 (extremely) — how sadistic are you when your partner can take and enjoy a level 10?

Dominatrix Paulina: My sadism is quite pronounced. I greatly enjoy lovingly tormenting my partner and watching him suffer. If he can take a lot and loves being tortured by me, he better brace himself. So that’s a clear 10.

Lady Sas: How would you describe your style of training?

Dominatrix Paulina: Spontaneous, intuitive, unpredictable. The desires and preferences of my partner matter to me, but I usually plan only a general direction. I rely heavily on the energy in the moment and how he reacts to certain stimuli. It’s a game played by my rules — and ideally, both of us enjoy it immensely.

I spend a lot of time on my passion, SM. I attend workshops, conventions, and do plenty of research. I’m also constantly working on new projects, so the world of SM is both my profession and my personal life.

About the SM Studios in Hamburg

Lady Sas: My impression is that, compared to cities like Berlin or Düsseldorf, Hamburg has a limited number of professional dominatrices. Is that impression correct? And if so, why?

Dominatrix Paulina: The studio scene in Hamburg is indeed quite small — especially considering the size of the city and its large surrounding area. The introduction of the Prostitution Protection Act (ProstSchG) and the pandemic-related lockdowns further reduced the number of studios and professionals.

On the other hand, this also creates opportunities for new providers who are willing and able to bring in fresh energy. I’m working on setting my own accents here in 2023.

Lady Sas: After the implementation of the Prostitution Protection Act, some women withdrew from the scene. How do you perceive the legal framework for your work as a dominatrix?

Dominatrix Paulina: I see the ProstSchG as unnecessary paternalism. Its basic premise is that women in sex work are potential victims of male violence and exploitation who must be protected or rescued — a view that seems even more out of place when it comes to dominatrices than with “regular” sex workers.

I am personally involved in the BesD association, which holds a critical stance toward the ProstSchG. It is particularly important to prevent further deterioration of working conditions for sex workers, especially with political discussions around introducing the “Nordic Model.”

Lady Sas: What is your current work situation? Do you feel the effects of the looming recession? Is COVID still an issue?

Domina Paulinatrix: The looming recession isn’t directly noticeable in terms of fewer visitors. However, rising heating and electricity costs can impact profitability, and passing these costs on to guests might lead to more restraint — especially if a recession progresses. All the more reason to stand out positively in the market.

Thankfully, COVID is no longer a major factor. The periods of lockdowns and contact restrictions, which pushed some studios and dominatrices out of the market, are behind us.

Lady Sas: What inspires you? How do you come up with new session ideas?

Domina Paulinatrix: Honestly, I don’t really think about it much. It comes to me during the session. Of course, I consider the preferences of the submissives, but everything else is guided by intuition. What matters to me is having good and varied equipment.

Lady Sas: Tell us how you spend your free time.

Domina Paulinatrix: I spend a lot of time on my passion, SM. I attend workshops, fairs, and do a lot of research. I’m also constantly working on new projects — the SM world is both my job and my leisure.

Lady Sas: What do you do to stay in such great shape?

Domina Paulinatrix: I’ve been going to the gym and doing strength training since I was 20. Even during busy times, I try to make time for it. I also pay attention to conscious nutrition. And last but not least, it’s important to me that fun is never neglected.

Lady Sas: What are your plans for the future?

Domina Paulinatrix: In the future, I’m focusing on opening my own studio. Studio Inkognito in Hamburg is currently being renovated and newly equipped by me.
