Mistress Severna is a Dominatrix in Lausanne, Geneva, and Zurich whose approach to female dominance is elegant, psychological, and deeply artistic. FemDom, in her world, is not a simple performance of power, but a carefully composed experience: part theatre, part psychology, part ritual, and part exploration of the hidden self.
Her path into dominance began with early impressions of strict authority, continued through literature, fetish aesthetics, leather, and the mysterious imagery of BDSM, and eventually developed into a highly personal form of female power. In her sessions, language, sound, smell, posture, and silence can all become instruments of control.
In this interview with Lady Sas, Mistress Severna speaks about psychological domination, the discreet BDSM scene in Switzerland, the misconceptions surrounding professional Dominatrixes, and what truly makes a submissive pleasing to a Mistress.
Lady Sas: Dear Severna, you work as a dominatrix in Lausanne, Geneva, and Zurich. How did your journey into the world of female dominance begin?
My journey into female dominance evolved very gradually.
To start with, I spent a lot of time in my very early childhood at the school where my mother was a quite strict and demanding teacher. I would observe her authority over the class and then, once everyone had left, I would pretend to give strict lessons myself (that is where my passion for meticulously prepared role plays comes from, as well as my love for a stern and rigorous look and expression).
Next, I have always felt a need for creative expression, which I explored in various fields such as drawing, design, and architecture. On the other hand, as many Dommes tend to say, there was also a strong need for control.
In my twenties, I discovered the scene on the internet, and it struck me as something very mysterious and “exotic”, almost scary, as I encountered the clichés of BDSM imagery: slaves, chains, whips, masks, gags!.. At the same time, I devoured all the “classics” from Marquis de Sade and Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, the latter particularly striking me with the image of his Venus in Furs main female character, Vanda: seductive and cruel, authoritative yet irresistibly fascinating. A “woman of superpowers,” I thought as I turned the pages.
And once you get the ball rolling… As I enjoyed wearing leather in my private life, I also acquired a very important insight into the psychology of fetishes. For a man, a fetish can often be a weakness, even a form of addiction, whereas in the hands of a woman it becomes a tool of power, power over a man’s body and, more importantly, over his mind!
With my desire to go deeper into the field, I found opportunities to get acquainted with the local BDSM and FemDom community and to learn a lot about the practical side through discussions, meetings, and workshops. I took numerous classes in my areas of interest with various Dommes who are as passionate about what they do as I am, and I still regularly continue to do so to enrich my skills and update my knowledge.

The Art of Female Dominance: Mistress Severna on Power, Role Play, and Control
Lady Sas: What personally fascinates you about female dominance?
Mistress Severna: First and foremost for me, it is a beautiful way of artistic self-expression. I arrange my sessions as an experience of theatrical performance that liberates our forbidden self, where my natural dominance steps in and evolves beautifully. Moreover, it is so versatile in its realisation: I can be a boss, scriptwriter, stage director, designer, actress, performance artist, and so many more!
It goes without saying that the idea of empowerment is very inspiring. FemDom grows confidence and self-esteem in women, which can only be beneficial for the balance in society, where men have historically been used to having a leading position.
Lady Sas: What role does psychology play in your sessions?
Mistress Severna: For me, dominance is an art, and what is the central preoccupation of art? To stir our emotions. Feelings, sentiments, and fantasies can often feel more powerful than physical sensations, that is why I consider psychology to play a primary role, with BDSM physical practices as tools to achieve the desired result of my session.
One of the most important things in psychological play is to know your submissive well, and to have a genuine interest in human personality in general. I do not do whipping, restraining, and humiliation for the pure sake of doing it. I always need to know why. “Knowledge is power”, isn’t it? And it is such a pleasure to use the knowledge about my submissive to enjoy even more power and control over him during the play!
Having a diploma in linguistics, I pay special attention to the analysis of my submissive’s verbal expression, starting from their initial request and presentation during the introductory interview, to their final feedback about the session. As we all live in a verbal civilization, words become the main tool through which our reality is created, negotiated, and controlled.
In session I often reuse specific words or expressions previously said by the submissive in our discussions. For example, if the submissive refers to himself as a “servant,” this is the exact term I will use (not “slave” or “sub”). This creates a subtle sense of recognition and psychological continuity, often experienced as being seen, understood, and a general feeling of security.
Apart from the use of language, I like to use other psychological dominance tools such as music and sound effects, vision, and smell.
For example, in a fetish-based pet play scene, I may instruct my submissive to “sniff” my nylons or boots in a dog-like manner, in response to the click of my fingers or a dog clicker. In this configuration, smell, hearing, and role-play language reinforce role immersion.
At other times, I intentionally reduce sensory input in order to intensify internal focus. For example, I may blindfold the submissive while he is exposed to pre-recorded hypnosis or conditioning audio. The removal of vision sharpens the hearing and bodily sensation, often leading to a more receptive mental state.
Finally, all these sensory combinations allow one to sink deeper into presence, focus, and submission.

Psychological Domination, Fetish, and the Hidden BDSM Scene in Switzerland
Want to learn the psychological side of female dominance?
Mistress Severna shows how language, sound, smell, and sensory control can become instruments of power. In the Femdom Academy by Lady Sas, you can go deeper — with elegant, practical, and psychological guidance for women who want to explore dominance with confidence, and for submissive men who want to better understand the mindset of a real Mistress.
Lady Sas: How open or hidden is the BDSM scene in Switzerland?
Mistress Severna: Switzerland has a well-established BDSM scene, concentrated mainly in the German-speaking part of the country. While it is legally accepted and well organized, it remains culturally discreet from the mainstream public due to a strong Swiss societal emphasis on privacy, which encourages alternative lifestyles to remain largely behind closed doors.
Lady Sas: What misconceptions about professional dominatrixes do you encounter most frequently?
Mistress Severna: A whip-wielding lady who always humiliates her subs, or what is even worse, a service provider for one’s sexual fetishes.
Having these clichés when one starts their journey in the scene reflects a simplified vision without knowing the depth of this art. However, once we step into the journey, both submissive and Dominant, it is important to see how vast the field is, how many different approaches exist, and to finally realize that FemDom is a beautiful experience of liberation from frustrations, by stepping into the forbidden and forgotten parts of our personality.
Lady Sas: What distinguishes genuine female dominance from mere role-play?
Mistress Severna: I don’t really support discussions about “true” and “fake” dominance, as I consider it very arbitrary. For me, dominance is always a kind of role-play, as it brings to the surface the roles we already have inside ourselves: the goddess, the warrior, the mother, the queen, the seductress, and many others. I can understand that not every woman who feels dominant can live these roles in her everyday life. But the act of embodying them from time to time, even once every few months, is already a very enriching experience.
So, to reply to the question, genuine FemDom is about the personal pleasure a woman has when she dominates, when she genuinely enjoys what she is doing.
As for the argument I often hear, “she only dominates for money”, this applies to any job. If we dislike, or even worse, hate what we do but continue to do it for financial reasons, with absolutely no pleasure, then it is no longer about “fake dominance”, it is about self-violence.

What Men Seek in Submission — and What Makes a Good Submissive
Lady Sas: Many men are constantly under pressure and control in their professional lives. Do you think that’s exactly why the need for submission is growing?
Mistress Severna: I think this statement could be partially true for men who are constantly seeking new sensations to spice up their lives. In this case, yes, playing the role of the submissive can satisfy their thirst for variety and bring some balance to their stressful lives, as a way to temporarily step away from responsibility.
However, I think the genuine need for submission, as well as fetishism (or both at the same time), often starts much earlier, in one’s childhood or teenage years. It can be triggered by a formative event, or a mix of experiences that eventually develop into this fetish or need to submit. In this sense, you do not have to be a CEO to feel the need to be submissive, as it often goes far back before men actually take on adult responsibility or stress.
Overall, I think the need for submission in men has always been present. What has changed is that it is becoming more visible, more openly discussed, and revealed by more submissives who now have the courage to speak about it.
Lady Sas: Has your view of men changed because of your work as a dominatrix?
Mistress Severna: Yes, it has. It has made me more critical of patriarchal values and the unequal dynamics they can create by limiting women’s autonomy and roles in the society.
At the same time, I have reconsidered the strength of men who can genuinely submit, endure, and suffer for me, as it requires quite a bit of courage!
Lady Sas: What fantasies or desires do you encounter most frequently?
Mistress Severna: I most frequently encounter desires centered around letting go of responsibility, as well as various forms of ownership and control. Another recurring theme is verbal and physical humiliation.
There is also a strong presence of fetish interests, particularly leather, nylon, and high heels, which I personally appreciate as well, as well as role-based training such as feminisation, pet play, and chastity training.
Mistress Severna about the qualities of a good submissive
Lady Sas: What qualities make a good sub?
Mistress Severna: In the first place, his desire to please Mistress. And no, not with his tongue, but through small or big actions that show that he cares.
Then, respecting Mistress’ personal time outside of sessions and showing appreciation for the effort she puts into creating a beautiful session through compliments, acts of service, tributes, and gifts.
Finally, the ability to listen to what Mistress says and comply with it, to choose appropriate language that respects the hierarchy during play, and of course to give detailed feedback afterward so that the relationship may deepen and grow.
Lady Sas: What advice do you have for women who are interested in Femdom but don’t know where to start?
Mistress Severna: I would start by asking myself what the things were that attracted you first when you learnt about FemDom (impact play? restraint? hypnosis? fetishes? psychological empowerment?).
Start with those. Enlarge your scope of knowledge on them first. Any resource can be educational: online classes, in-person workshops, local community events. Study your topics of interest with small but regular steps. Train your observation skills when reading books, watching films and documentaries, even looking at works of art in a museum. FemDom can be found in far more situations than we may think. You can literally draw inspiration from everywhere!
A local FemDom community, if available and legal in your country, can be a good opportunity to meet like-minded people who may share your interests and help you learn and advance.
For those who would like to go even further, a good idea would be to take occasional classes from one or a few Dominatrices who you find inspiring and whose values match yours, focusing on their area of mastery. Not necessarily a long course, just a couple of lessons to see if what you are interested in can suit you.
Lady Sas: Thank you very much.
