Lady Sas: Dear Juli, you are a trained computer scientist. How did you end up working as a dominatrix in Zurich?

Miss Juli: Because I have many skills and have had so many different ideas about what I could do professionally, the agony of choice was very exhausting for me for a long time.

I began exploring spiritual topics and practices when I was just six years old, and I started meditating, among other things. I chose to study computer science instead of art, but then I realized that I did not see enough potential for myself in it. After that, I was drawn to a small permaculture farm in Ireland for almost two years, with goats and chickens, far away from any big city.

Even before I returned to Switzerland in 2016, I became aware that I was into strange sexual things that I could not fully explain to myself yet. A friend who worked as a professional dominatrix told me about BDSM and Tantra. I was fascinated by the fact that there are people who consciously experiment with their sexuality — my interest was awakened. I devoured books and attended workshops on the subject. When I visited this friend in London, I booked a session with Sir Claire Black. After that, everything developed step by step. I began working as an erotic and tantric masseuse, expanded my skills, and continued to evolve.

Lady Sas: The term “dominatrix” hardly does you justice. What exactly do you offer?

Miss Juli: I often reflect on my needs in my work and constantly refine my vision. Being self-determined, authentic, and unique is very important to me. Presence and openness to a creative flow require constant practice; that is the only way I can avoid routine. Celebrating life in all its different facets is very important to me, which is why I also enjoy allowing my abilities to flow into this creative emotional work.

I like to describe myself as a BDSM artist. Embodying my powerful, leading, and benevolent femininity feels wonderful. Archetypes such as “the wild woman” and “nature goddesses” strongly appeal to me. I draw a lot of inspiration from Kali and similarly wrathful goddesses who give no space to bullshit. “Dominatrix” is a term that is well known and very often searched for online. Search engine optimization matters too 😉

My work definitely has a spiritual and healing aspect. The goal is to create spaces with the intention of allowing encounters without judgment, so that my guests can feel safe, forget everyday life and time, and allow themselves to let go. 

Lady Sas: You learned the dominant craft from a dominatrix in London who calls herself “Sir Claire Black.” How did you come across her, and why does she call herself “Sir”?

Miss Juli: Claire is nonbinary. It is important to Claire that the sub remains present during play and addresses Claire consciously, instead of automatically blurting out “yes, Mistress.” I came across Sir Claire Black through the friend I mentioned earlier. Claire’s presence immediately appealed to me because Claire breaks clichés, is very clear and self-confident, and is a strong role model — which struck exactly the right chord with me.

Her Greatest Fetish: Rope

Lady Sas: Your greatest fetish is rope. What fascinates you about it?  

Miss Juli: Ropes captivate me in so many different ways. They can be painful, sensual, protective, erotic, and so much more. The focus in a bondage session can be on sensory experiences or on the dynamic within the encounter. Through bondage, D/s dynamics can be intensified, or people can be placed in any number of uncomfortable positions that still end in arousal.

This applies both to communication and to the perception of one’s own needs. In general, however, there is very little that can be generalized.

Lady Sas: What are the bright sides and what are the darker sides of your work?

Miss Juli: I love my work. But it is not always easy to answer the question “so, what do you do?” It is not shame — it is simply the reaction of the other person. We are also often discriminated against, whether by lawmakers, by people who want to impose “protection” on us, by financial service providers who charge extra-high fees, or by platforms like PayPal that freeze accounts and withhold money. Still, the self-determined work, the variety, the creativity, and the joy of life outweigh everything by far.

Lady Sas: Please tell us how you spend your free time.

Miss Juli: An ideal day begins with one to two hours of spiritual practice, meaning meditation, breathing exercises, movement, preferably Falun Gong or yoga. Days without obligations are very important to me, and I enjoy moments of simply being and stillness, but I also like to surrender completely to the creative fire. I enjoy attending workshops, designing clothes, making pottery, making music, dancing, and going to wellness spaces.

I love being barefoot in nature, feeling the elements, the soft forest floor, hard hot stones, cold snow, fresh wet grass. I like letting my naked body bathe in the sun. Trees are important beings in my life. I love hugging them and climbing them.

Taking time out for inner journeys, with or without plant beings, as consciousness-expanding and health-promoting activities, is very important to me.

Lady Sas: What are your plans for the future?

Miss Juli: A complete list would go beyond the scope here. Even though I am very happy with my life, there is always something to optimize, something to develop further, something new to learn. I have ideas for workshops I would like to offer.

Environmental protection is important to me. I want to continue reducing my waste.
