Mistress Bella Lugosi came to Berlin from the United States through the world of music. In Berlin she found a city where BDSM, creativity, and female dominance could become part of her life. Today, the professional Dominatrix talks to Lady Sas about strap-on play, vulnerability, switching, and why she believes submission can reveal far more than many expect.
This interview is part of our series of interviews with dominatrixes from around the world and part of our interviews with German Mistresses. In addition, the interview is part of our feature on the Other World Kingdom (OWK). New to Femdom? Our Femdom Guide provides an introduction.
Lady Sas: Dear Bella, how did you first discover BDSM?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: I came to BDSM fairly late. I had a very religious upbringing and was a late bloomer. My first experience with BDSM was in college. I knew a Dominatrix in Boston, where I was studying at the time. One night, she took a friend and me to see the studio where she worked, and I will never forget that experience. I got goosebumps just being in the studio, although at that point I didn’t fully understand why.
It still took several years before I started enjoying BDSM in my private life. I remember always consciously enjoying things that seemed a little unusual, extreme, or naughty by conventional vanilla standards. But I still didn’t know what to call it. In my mid-twenties, I finally learned that the things I enjoyed had a name: BDSM.

Mistress Bella Lugosi, Berlin
Lady Sas: You’re originally from the United States and now live in Berlin. What brought you here?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: I came to Berlin in 2008 for a job, working as a record label assistant and tour manager for DJ Hell. My background is in music. I studied audio production and engineering.
Some time after college, I started listening to techno. Eventually, I began booking artists and promoting club nights, then moved away from production and into business, PR, booking, label management, and artist management.
I’ve since stepped away from the music industry, but I still enjoy going out every now and then. Berlin has a lot to offer in that respect. I love this city and have no intention of leaving anytime soon.
Lady Sas: Your name sounds Italian. Coincidence or intentional?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: My name is a tribute to Bela Lugosi, the Hungarian actor who played the original Dracula in the 1931 black-and-white movie. I’m really into vampires and horror films.
It’s also a nod to one of my favorite bands, Bauhaus, and their most famous song, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.” The song was also used in another major vampire movie from the 1980s, The Hunger, starring David Bowie.
Lady Sas: What fascinates you most about BDSM?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: The biggest fascination for me is the people I meet. I love how different everyone is, getting to know them, and exploring their fetishes with them. The human imagination will always be the most interesting tool in the arsenal. I’m genuinely impressed by the creativity and fantasies of some of my guests. There are no limits to creativity in BDSM. People who don’t really understand it often have a very standardized view of it, but it’s so much more than whips and chains. Ultimately, it’s about the connection between two people — and BDSM can intensify and deepen that connection.
“I think it might be the best job in the world. I find it fun, cathartic, sometimes challenging, creative, interesting, and rewarding.”

Shifting the Power Dynamic
Lady Sas: What do you feel when you use a strap-on?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: The strap-on is one of my favorite toys. For me, it’s about shifting the power dynamic. I love being the one wearing the cock, and I believe all men deserve to experience penetration. Being penetrated — being the receiving partner — can be an incredibly powerful experience for a man. I’ve had many strap-on sessions where my guests needed a lot of aftercare afterward because the experience left them feeling vulnerable in a way they hadn’t expected. They had many questions — questions they could only answer by looking deeply within themselves:
“Have I been giving my partner enough aftercare after sex?”
“Should I stop pressuring my girlfriend into anal sex?”
“I had my first orgasm through prostate stimulation. What does that mean?”
Lady Sas: Is being a Dominatrix the best job in the world for you?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: I think it might be the best job in the world. I find it fun, cathartic, sometimes challenging, creative, interesting, and rewarding. If that doesn’t sound like the best job in the world, I don’t know what does. I think most people wish they could feel that way about their jobs.
Lady Sas: Are there aspects of working as a professional Dominatrix that you don’t enjoy?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: It doesn’t happen very often, but the only bad experiences I’ve had during sessions so far involved men who weren’t genuinely submissive and then showed up trying to top from the bottom. Some people enjoy that dynamic. I don’t. I have no interest in taking on the task of dominating someone who doesn’t actually want to be dominated. Guests who come to me should be respectful and ready to surrender and submit. They should honor female supremacy. Anything else is a waste of time for both of us.

“I Enjoy Switching in My Private Life” — Mistress Bella Lugosi
Lady Sas: Have you ever explored your submissive side?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: Oh yes. I enjoy switching in my private life or submitting to a worthy alpha type. But that is strictly part of my private life. As a professional Mistress, I am only interested in female supremacy and a CFNM environment. I think my experience with both roles makes me a more empathetic and open-minded Dominatrix.
Lady Sas: Most male Dominants use their submissive women for sexual pleasure. Most Dominatrices, on the other hand, don’t have sex with their submissives. Why do you think that is?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: That’s a great question, and something I’ve wondered about many times myself. I think this perspective can reinforce the patriarchal idea that sex is something women “give” to men. Personally, however, I find erotic domination very exciting. I don’t engage in sexual acts with my clients, but I think erotic domination is a fascinating style of dominance, and I especially enjoy watching it in porn. Tease and denial is very high on my personal list of fetishes. The idea of using men sounds good in theory… but reality is always different from fantasy.
Lady Sas: How would you describe the BDSM scene in the United States compared with Germany?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: That’s a question I can’t really answer because I never worked as a Dominatrix in the United States. But as a professional who works legally in Germany, I have very few complaints. Everything is legal and regulated here, and there is much less stigma surrounding this kind of work in Germany.
Lady Sas: Do you have any hobbies? What do you do in your free time?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: In my free time, I collect records — mainly from the 1980s and early 1990s. I enjoy shopping and spending time in cafés, parks, and cemeteries. I also love reading and am currently reading yet another collection of weird fiction by Thomas Ligotti. I love his work. Visual and culinary arts, film, the occult, music, culture, and travel are all passions of mine.
Lady Sas: What would you recommend to BDSM and fetish fans visiting Berlin?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: First, of course, you should visit me for a session at Studio Avalon or the Avalon Residence, where we can also do long-term prisoner scenarios and pony play. If you’re looking for fetish clothing in Berlin, I recommend Boutique Peter Domenie, Savage Wear Latex, Blackstyle Latex, Hautnah, and Schwarzer Reiter. My favorite stores for BDSM equipment are McHurt and Mister B. The best kinky club is KitKat, especially the queer-friendly, sexy party Gegen. Another great party is Pornceptual. The German Fetish Ball takes place in Berlin every May — almost an entire week celebrating the fetish lifestyle.
Mistress Bella Lugosi on a Femdom Tour in the Netherlands
Lady Sas: What are your plans for the future?
Mistress Bella Lugosi: I’ll continue seeing slaves and refining my craft at Studio Avalon. I’m also going to start exploring my own ideas, creating my own content, and opening a clip store in the near future. I have some really cool photo shoots in the works that I’m looking forward to. I also recently went on my first Femdom tour in the Netherlands and had a great time. Now I’m thinking about future trips. I think London could be my next destination.
Lady Sas: Thank you for your time, and all the best.
