Many Lady Sas readers will already know Mistress Deva Venera from a previous interview. But much has changed since our first conversation, and the earlier portrait no longer reflected where she is today. So we felt it was time for a new interview.
Today, Deva Venera has evolved from classical studio domination in Berlin toward a more personal form of FLR and lifestyle Femdom, with Paris now serving as her European home base and creative center. In this interview, she talks about how her sessions, relationships with submissives, and understanding of dominance have changed over more than a decade.
This interview is part of a series of interviews with dominatrixes from around the world. New to Femdom? Our Femdom Guide provides an introduction.
Lady Sas: Dear Deva, you moved from Berlin to Paris. How did that come about?
Mistress Deva Venera: I visited Paris in 2024 and actually said on the very first day: I want to live here. Not simply because I found it beautiful, but because something within me immediately resonated very strongly with this city.
I had already been thinking for quite some time about what would come after Berlin, because I knew that at some point I wanted to give up my studio and that a new chapter would begin after my time in Germany.
I travel a lot around the world and feel at home in many places. For example, I feel very connected to Asia. But Paris has become my home base whenever I am in Europe.
For a long time, I liked the minimalism of Berlin. Paris is an incredible contrast to that, and that is exactly what I appreciate so much today. The opulence, the beauty, the architecture. It inspires me.

Mistress Deva Venera, Paris

From Classical Dominatrix to FLR and Lifestyle Femdom
Lady Sas: When you look at yourself in Paris today and look back at your time in Berlin, how have you evolved as a Dominatrix?
Mistress Deva Venera: I started out at Studio Avalon in Berlin. Later, I had my own studio for five years, which also included a clinic.
My years in Berlin were therefore very much shaped by my work as a classical Dominatrix, by studio sessions and my clinic sessions, which made up a large part of my work at the time.
Over time, it became clear in which direction things were developing for me. My encounters became more and more inspired by FLR and lifestyle BDSM, because I had also started to live Femdom more in my private life.
I found it more fulfilling to have longer sessions outside the studio or to travel with my subs rather than having many shorter sessions in a studio environment. It felt more natural and relaxed to me.
And so one thing led to another. In a way, my move away from Berlin also marked the end of my old role as a Domina and a transition towards more FLR and lifestyle.
Nevertheless, I am of course still very inspired by classical slave training, by corporal punishment and so on. It is a wonderful addition to what I do today. No one can take away the experience I have gained and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work in several established studios, to acquire the practical skills there, and to personally get to know wonderful Mistresses of the old school. That has definitely shaped me in my role forever.
I look back very fondly on the old studio days and every now and then I miss the cages, the cells and all the bondage furniture.

Mentoring Women in Femdom
Lady Sas: You are working on a mentoring program for women who want to explore Femdom either privately or professionally. What can we expect from it? How does it work?
Mistress Deva Venera: Over the past few years, I have repeatedly coached women on this subject and really enjoyed that exchange. But over the last few months, I have really felt that the time is right to turn it into a bigger project.
My main motivation is that I have so much to share. Over the past years, I have always expressed myself primarily through visuals. I have never really shared my experiences systematically. And after more than ten years in this field, there is so much knowledge and so many skills that I would like to make available to others.
On the one hand, there is my personal mentoring program, where we work intensively together in 1:1 sessions, depending on the individual goals. This could be a woman who is just starting out and needs some guidance, but also someone who wants a complete rebranding or changes in her work.
Or it could be someone from a private background, with no previous connection to BDSM, whose partner suddenly tells her that he has these inclinations. And then the question arises: What do I do with this now?
The other part will be my online masterclass. A systematically structured package of knowledge in which I basically provide everything I wish I had known when I started. This includes structuring a session, marketing and personal branding, communication with the submissive, finding your persona and your own style, understanding the different types of submissives and how to build a session accordingly, but also safety and practical tips.
Basically, everything I would also give my best friend along the way to help her have the easiest and most successful start possible.

Advice for Women Curious About Femdom
Lady Sas: What advice would you give to women who are curious about the role of a Femdom?
Mistress Deva Venera: First of all, there are all these clichés surrounding Femdom. And I think they often hold back women from taking that step, both professionally and privately.
So my advice is always: if you notice that it makes you curious, look beyond those clichés and explore the subject more deeply. For example, when I first started working as a Dominatrix, I said that it wasn’t something I would want in my private life. In reality, it simply took time for me to understand what exactly I wanted, which dynamic was right for me and which qualities were important to me in a sub.
My other advice is not to be discouraged by the thought that you might not be dominant enough. That is another very typical cliché. For one thing, there are very different archetypes of Femdom. And secondly, you naturally grow into the role and become more confident over time.

Femdom as a Lived Lifestyle
Lady Sas: How have you evolved as a Dominatrix over the years?
Mistress Deva Venera: Over the course of more than ten years, I have gone through what has been a very intense process for me personally, in which my own personal development went hand in hand with my professional work. And if I had to sum it up briefly, it has been the evolution from Femdom as a service to Femdom as a lived lifestyle.
And yes, I still charge for my time today, even more than I used to. And yet, it no longer feels like something that can simply be booked, but rather something that grows over time to build a strong connection with my submissive.
Over the last few years, I have come to understand that I give a lot through my presence in my sessions and that I no longer want to see so many different subs. I much prefer to focus on a select few and build an intense connection that nourishes both sides.
I also noticed that when I had many short sessions with different people, my creative potential seemed to dissipate. So I ultimately started investing it more strongly in my own creative projects. Over the last two or three years, I have done much more with photography and expressed myself in that way.
I simply love how something you started more or less by chance over a decade ago grows with you, takes shape, changes and yet remains a part of your life.
I think that is one of the most important things when it comes to maintaining your passion over a long period of time: allowing yourself to change and growing with the process, so that you never grow tired of it and continue to find new inspiration within it.
Lady Sas: Thank you very much.
